FAQ

More information for you + me.

What is your style of photography?
I am primarily a documentary style photographer. I believe in capturing the day as it unfolds, and not orchestrating it to suit the photography. I do, however, provide direction during family, wedding party, and couple formals. I strongly believe in real smiles, emotions and connections – I want you to connect with me as well as each other while you’re in front of the camera.

What is the process for booking a wedding with Cassie Rose?
I would love to meet with you and learn about you as a couple and your plans for your wedding. If we decide that we’re a great fit for each other, a deposit and a signed contract are required to secure your date. I’m happy to provide a copy of my contract for your review prior to our meeting, as well!

Is an engagement session necessary?
I include an engagement session in all of my packages because I strongly believe it’s not only an awesome opportunity to get some beautiful, relaxed photographs of you, but it’s perfect for getting comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day.

How far in advance should we book our engagement session?
I recommend planning an engagement session no later than two months prior to the wedding. That provides plenty of opportunity for you to order prints and a guestbook, if you so desire.

How many weddings do you shoot in a day? A weekend?
I will only shoot one wedding per weekend, and definitely only one wedding a day! :]

When are our final photographs delivered?
For an engagement, bridal, or day after session, proofs will be posted in your online gallery within 2-3 weeks after your session, and your DVD of high resolution images with print release will be in the mail at the same time. For a wedding, proofs are available in your online gallery within 4-6 weeks after the wedding, and your DVD of high resolution images with print release will be in the mail at the same time.

How many photographs do you deliver?
I strongly believe in the quality of my images, and only deliver the best to you. For an engagement, bridal, or day after session, I generally deliver between 40-60 final images, depending on how long your session is. For a wedding, I deliver between 400-600 images.

Do we receive a DVD of images? In what format?
Yes! I believe it’s so important to have images from your wedding day and sessions with me in digital format. I will deliver high resolution files in JPG format to you with a print release.

Are all images edited?
Every image that you receive in your proofing gallery and on your DVD will be edited for exposure, color tone, and clarity. I also include a folder of “highlights”, which are my favorite images and receive additional special edits – these are typically the images that go on my blog and in my portfolio. Any image that goes to print through me (both in albums and prints) will have further individual retouching on that image, such as smoothing skin, blemishes, textures, and lighting, as well as the addition of any artistic edits.

What is a second shooter? Do I need one?
A second shooter option is provided in two of my packages and as an add-on for the third as well as custom packages. Basically, a second shooter provides another layer of coverage, and can provide a different dimension of storytelling. They are in places that I am not, so there are multiple angles for key points during the day, such as the ceremony. It’s a great idea to add on a second shooter, but it’s completely personal preference.

Do you have a set second shooter that you work with?
I have a great network of professional photographers that I absolutely love to work with. Since my second photographers are also professionals with their own studios, I generally will know within a few months of the date who the second photographer will be at your wedding.

A storybook album is included in my package – can I upgrade to an heirloom album or to a larger size?
Yes, absolutely! Ask me about discounts for album upgrades. :]

What is your album design process + timeline?
After I post the proofs online and get your DVD to you, I will begin designing your album. If you have any special requests for images to be included, definitely let me know! Albums are designed and ready for approval within two weeks after the  proofs are online, and once approved, will take between 4-6 weeks to be delivered, depending on the album style chosen. Three edits are included in the album cost – additional edits and revisions to the album after the first three are billed at my hourly rate.

What methods of payment are accepted? When are payments due? What about sales tax?
All prices do not include sales tax – please add 8.25% sales tax for Texas. I accept checks and credit cards. Generally, two payments are required – the first is the deposit to secure the date, and the second is your final balance, which is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding. I’m happy to work with you on a monthly payment schedule as well!

Of course, if you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m more than happy to meet with you, skype with you, or have a phone chat to go over any additional questions!
